On October 13, 2022, the conference "Digitalization of law - the future is today" was held under the organization of the Legal Aid Service and with the support of the COE of the Council of Europe.
For the first time in Georgia, in the Legal Aid Service, an artificial intelligence-based system for written legal advice and document preparation was introduced in a pilot mode. The "LOGOS" program, used to digitalize and automate the work of the Legal Aid Service, became available on the basis of the memorandum signed with the German business knowledgeTools International GmbH.
The consultant and the lawyer input the essential information—actual facts and legal issues—into the artificial intelligence program, which subsequently processes the data and generates the relevant documentation. The lawyer gets the chance to study the artificial intelligence-generated document before delivering it to the beneficiary and, if necessary, makes adjustments or clarifications.
Relevant legislation, practice, international documents are entered into the program in advance. This ensures both time saving, and the Service ability to provide a uniform quality standard throughout Georgia.
The innovation significantly improves the process of litigation operationally and in terms of qualification improvement.
Director of the Legal Aid Service, Razhden Kuprashvili opened the conference. Director of KnowledgeTools International GmbH, Tilo Wend, also addressed the audience. In the panel discussion participated: Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee of the Parliament, Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze, Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Davit Asatiani.
