On June 22, at the Ozurgeti District Court, there was held a mood court l of jurors, in which the jurors were composed of Ozurgeti residents, and the parties were represented by staff members of the Service Administration and the Ozurgeti Bureau.
The "jurors" listened attentively to both sides, actively asked questions, and discussed and debated a lot before the verdict was issued. They mentioned that the process was very interesting for them and they gained a lot of experience by participating in it. It should be noted that the Mood court of jurors, the participants of which- the judges and attendees - must be residents of a particular region, aims to raise the legal awareness of the population and potentially prepare them for real participation in jury trials.
The event was organized as part of the LAS legal Awareness campaign - Making the Law Accessible to All –supported by the Council of Europe (COE).
