On May 9 and 16, 2025, the training course “Lawyer in Criminal Procedure” at the Department of Law and Public Administration of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University was concluded with a moot court. The training course was led by Professor Omar Partenadze. The jury was selected by the parties from students of other specialties in accordance with the law.
Tornike Tsivadze, a lawyer at the LEPL Legal Aid Service (LAS) Ajara Legal Aid Bureau and a graduate of the same university, received an invitation to be a judge. A logical conclusion (the jury verdict) was reached following the parties' opening statements, the evidence analysis, the closing speech, and concluding remarks of the accused. The moot court facilitates the student's conversion of acquired theoretical knowledge into useful abilities. Similar moot courts are held annually, which arouses great interest among students.
