On April 19, the LAS Tbilisi Bureau lawyers held information meeting with the population of Akhaldaba village which was damaged as a result of flood in Tbilisi on June 13, 2015.
The main problem for the local population is registration of the agricultural lands which they already own. The LAS lawyers informed the residents of Akhaldaba about the criteria necessary for receiving free legal aid and rendered consultation on various legal issues.
The village which is located at about 4 kilometres from Tskhneti was flooded by the river on June 13 of last year. The road connecting Akhaldaba with Tbilisi was destroyed; communication systems were damaged too. It is worth to mention that as a result of rehabilitation works, infrastructure of the village had been partially restored.
The LAS Tbilisi Bureau periodically carries out activities to help victims of the flood. The Bureau employees take active participation in liquidation works of the flood outcome. With their initiative, the families of the victims received various home appliances.
