On June 21, 2023, Director of the Legal Aid Service, David Simonia, and Joint Project Coordinator of the Service and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mariam Kvirkvia, attended the Georgian Refugee Forum, organized by UNHCR Georgia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
At the forum, the state agencies representatives discussed the importance of protecting the rights of refugees and the process of fulfilling their obligations in this respect.
Refugees from Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Sudan and other nations, who were invited to the event, shared their experiences, spoke about their achieved success and goals for the future.
David Simonia assured the asylum seekers that using narrow specialization expertise and cutting-edge tools like artificial intelligence, would go a long way toward ensuring the caliber of the legal assistance they receive.
