The Director of the Legal Aid Service, David Simonia and head of the Association "Mercuri," Nana Todua signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on May 22 in Zugdidi. The goal of the memorandum is to enhance women’s legal standing, to offer full-fledged crisis assistance as well as long-term support to victims and potential victims of domestic violence.
The Legal Aid Service declares its readiness to offer free legal advice, legal documents drafting and attorney services to the Association "Mercury" beneficiaries, who are victims of domestic violence. Association "Mercury" will reinforce the maximum involvement of beneficiaries in various educational, informational and youth initiatives planned by the Service, ensure referral of the the beneficiaries and to the extent of its competence will offer psycho-social and other types of support to the beneficiaries the Service redirected.
