On May 2, Poti Legal Aid Service Bureau attorney Maya Daraselia and consultant Salome Janjghava met with the students and administration of school #7 named after Giorgi Chkondideli in Poti. The discussion was held in response to the school’s request for participation in the Human Rights event.
In a slide program on human rights, attorney Maya Daraselia provided a brief overview of the human rights protected by the Georgian Constitution, the legal hierarchy, the issues governed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Code of Child Rights.
Consultant Salome Janjghava informed the audience on the criteria of receiving free legal aid, and on other services from LAS.
In the course of the meeting the schoolchildren received thorough responses to their questions.
