On November 28, the First Deputy Director of the Legal Aid Service, Nino Meladze, and the attorney, Thea Kaulashvili attended a panel discussion organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on the "Trends and challenges in the asylum system of Georgia". Nino Meladze made a presentation on "The Strategy of the Legal Aid Service regarding Asylum Seekers". One part of the discussion was focused on the legal issues of asylum seekers, during which the representatives of the Supreme Council of Justice, Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tbilisi Court of Appeal and other organizations shared their opinions. It was noted that discussions related to the asylum seekers issues will take place also in the future.
