Legal Aid Service, with the support of the National University of Georgia (SEU), continues a series of panel discussions.
The topic of "Challenges of social law in Georgian legislation and judicial practice" was the subject of a discussion on November 15. Razhden Kuprashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service of the Georgian State Council, and Irina Seperteladze, a representative of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Georgia, addressed the discussion participants and the audience. The Vice-Rector of the National University of Georgia (SEU) in the scientific research direction, Doctor of Law, Professor Ana Firtskhalaishvili spoke about the social state principle in the context of the division of power; Doctor of Law of Tbilisi State University, Professor Paata Turava gave a report on the Georgian model of social assistance;
The issues of the minimum wage and homelessness in Georgia were discussed by Nato Niauri, chief researcher of the Research Center of the Parliament of Georgia. The panel discussion was actively participated in by practicing attorneys. Natia Berdzenishvili, public attorney for the Mtskheta Legal Aid Bureau, presented the topic: Legal regulation and court practice of granting supporters status to people with psychosocial needs;
And Akaki Lomsadze, Public Attorney of the Tbilisi Legal Aid Bureau, drew attention to the problematic issues related to the appointment of subsistence allowance in the legislation and judicial practice. Numerous questions were raised during the discussion by exchanging theoretical and practical experience, and in-depth responses were provided.
