On November 9, Gori Legal Aid Bureau consultant Nino Masurashvili participated in a meeting held in the village of Shavshvebi of Gori Municipality, which was organized by the Gender Equality Council of Gori Municipality together with the Gori Office of the European Union Monitoring Mission.
The meeting was also attended by the residents of the nearby villages: Tsilubani, Natsreti, Shavshvi IDP settlement, Khurvaleti, and Nazalevi. Nino Masurashvili introduced the gathered community to the criteria for receiving free legal aid, the services of the Legal Aid Service.
Attention was focused on issues of violence against women and domestic violence. The members of the Gender Equality Council and the European monitors talked about the importance of increasing women's involvement in the decision-making process, the protection and assistance mechanisms for victims in the country, also, about the importance of women's education, development, and employment, on the possibilities of receiving free legal and psychological support.
The attendees posed significant questions, to which they received thorough responses. It was mentioned that related gatherings would take place in other villages.
