From June 30 to July 3, 2022, the Legal Aid Service attorneys will participate in a trainers’ training, entitled - Sexual Violence Issues for Attorneys.
The training is supported by the United Nations Women (UN WOMEN), the Swedish Government, and the Council of Europe Office in Georgia.
The aim of the training program is to deepen the practicing attorneys’ knowledge of international human rights law on crimes of sexual violence, including the Council of Europe Convention on Combating and Preventing Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, international criminal law, of various countries, and the current practices; and obtain the necessary materials and methodology to conduct training for professionals on the issue. The training is based on the Investigation and Prosecution of Sexual Violence Trial Guide, developed by the United Nations Joint Program on Gender Equality (UNJP), with the support of the Government of Sweden and the Council of Europe project "Promoting an Integrated Approach to End Violence Against Women and Enhancing Gender Equality in Georgia".
