On June 22, the Legal Aid Service (LAS) director met with the representatives of the Mayor Administration, Assembly, Social Services, and village authorities of the Chokhatauri Municipality. The special presentation by LAS introduced the criteria for receiving free legal aid, issues of violence against women and domestic violence, children's rights, the rights of people with disabilities, and other important projects that the Legal Aid Service is working on. Chokhatauri residents noted that access to free legal aid is very important for their municipality, as there are accumulated a number of legal problems the population is concerned about, which require a timely response. These include land registration, inheritance, and family disputes.
Particular interest was caused by the mobile application of the Legal Aid Service - LAS Georgia -and the "Paralegals" project. Part of the locals has already been registered on the list of those who wish to provide primary legal aid and who will soon undergo training, gain special knowledge, and will be able to provide themselves with significant assistance to all interested.
