On June 13-15, Ms. Patricia Wildermus, senior supervisor of the Office of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, United States Department of State, visited the Legal Aid Service.
Legal Aid Service Director, Razden Kuprashvili, and his deputies comprehensively introduced the American guest to the free legal aid system in Georgia, the Service projects, and other challenges.
Patricia Wildermurs also met with public attorneys and heard from them about ongoing specific issues and those needing a future improvement.
Ms. Wildermurs noted that taking into consideration the nature and scale of the LAS activities, the US Department of State will continue to provide support through USAID to remove all obstacles and improve the work to enhance the quality of legal aid. Furthermore, additional support will be provided for effectively implementing the population's legal awareness-raising campaign, including conducting more moot courts across the country.
