On May 17, at the Tsalenjikha Student Youth House, the representatives of the Legal Aid Service (LAS) held a meeting with representatives of the Tsalenjikha City Hall, the Municipality Administration, the City Assembly, social services, non-governmental organizations, and the education sector. at the Tsalenjikha Student Youth House.
Through the special presentation, Head of the Zugdidi Legal Aid Bureau Roman Keidia introduced the audience to the LAS services, the Women and Domestic Violence issues, the Code of the Rights of the Child, and the Juvenile Justice
the rights of persons with disabilities, who are directly protected by public attorneys. The second part of the event was dedicated to the presentation of the Service's new project - "Paralegals". Samegrelo is the first region where the "Registry of Paralegals" is being formed.
The project "Paralegal" unites the representatives of the society who are not lawyers by profession, but will receive special training in legal issues organized by the Legal Aid Service, and will have the opportunity to provide first aid to relatives, neighbors, friends - all interested people who apply to them.
Meetings held in Samegrelo with the population of Senaki, Abasha, Tsalenjikha, Khobi, Martvili, and Chkhorotsku, are carried out within the framework of the legal aid information raising campaign of the LAS - the "Make the law accessible to all" movement. ბThe campaign is supported by the Council of Europe (COE).
