The meeting took place in the office of the Council of Europe

On 6 May, at the Council of Europe (COE), Director of the Legal Aid Service Razhden Kuprashvili, his First Deputy Nino Meladze, and his Deputy David Simonia, met Anna Öberg Degnbol, Deputy Permanent Representative of Sweden to the Council of Europe, and Kim Sandstrom, Swedish International Development Agency Program Manager . The meeting was organized by Stefan Sirbu, Deputy Head of Office of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia, Bakar Jikia, Project Officer, and Archil Pashalishvili, Project Assistant. They discussed the part of the action plan developed by the Office of Georgia of the Council of Europe, which deals with the maintenance of the free legal aid system in Georgia and strengthening the LEPL Legal Aid Service work.

The representatives of the Kingdom of Sweden were interested in the general picture of human rights protection in Georgia, in creation of which public advocates play an important role, as well as the issues of violence against women and domestic violence. The Legal Aid Service representatives provided the guests with detailed information on the issues of their interest and introduced the plan of the Legal Awareness Campaign for the near future, which will be held directly with the support of the Council of Europe (COE) Office in Georgia
