From April 27 to May 2, the Legal Aid Service attorneys received the training of trainers on the topic – The Rights of Persons with Disabilities: International and National Standards.
The initiative is supported by the South Caucasus Field Presence of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the United Nations Sustainable Development Fund (SDG Fund), and financial assistance from the United Nations Partnership for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNPRPD).
Within the Training of Trainers framework, the participating attorneys were trained on the following issues: Standards for the Relationship with Persons with Disabilities, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Practice of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in relation to specific rights, the National Legislative Framework for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities, Techniques and methods of conducting the training. Among the trainers were experts: Ekaterine Tavartkiladze, Sopho Chachava, Giorgi Chkheidze, Ana Abashidze and Ana Arganashvili.
