On December 11, Razhden Kuprashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service, presented the 2021 report on the activities of the Service to the representatives of the Legal Aid Bureaus and Counseling Centers.
The special presentation covered both –the statistical information and the projects prepared by the Service and implemented as a result of great efforts under the limits due to the global pandemic: the primary results of the evaluation system, activities of the Training center, increasing of territorial access to free legal aid by launching new offices, Information Campaigns to raise the legal awareness of the population, new websites of the Service, extended mandate to protect the rights of persons with disabilities, the issues arising after the enactment of the Child Code and the means of resolving them and many more.
Razhden Kuprashvili also introduced the most important projects planned for the year 2022, the implementation of which will involve all the links of the Legal Aid Service and will jointly address all the challenges that the Service is currently facing.
This year, for the first time in the Legal Aid Service history, a special commission evaluated the successful cases produced by the public attorneys. The director presented special certificates to the winners. These attorneys will also be rewarded with appropriate funds by the Service.

In addition, special certificates of appreciation will be awarded to the attorneys at the Public Defender Registry who perform large-scale work. The Legal Aid Service is planning a considerable reform to improve the working conditions of the Registry attorneys and to properly evaluate their labour.
