The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science, Lia Gigauri and the Director of Legal Aid Service, Meliton Benidze signed a memorandum of cooperation with the aim to raise legal awareness among the schoolchildren and to promote development of civil education and prevention of crime.
In the framework of memorandum, Legal Aid Service will provide seminars, meetings and public lectures through active participation of its territorial branches and structural units.
The ground for the above-mentioned cooperation is a standard “Citizen” envisaged by the national curriculum. This standard considers teaching of legal issues at schools. In our days, knowing legal issues is very preferable and actual as it allows us to bring up a protected citizen with state’s interests in mind.
