The 2-year training program has started today in Tbilisi with the first training on obtaining the evidences, designed for the lawyers who provide free legal aid. The training program includes more than 150 trainings on up to 40 topics which will be carried out with support of the UN Development Program and the EU.
The LAS lawyers, as well as private lawyers who render free service to citizens, as a part of the budgetary reimbursement, took part in the survey according to which the theme of training was defined. The training program is implemented in cooperation with the Bar Association of Georgia and the participant lawyers will be granted the credits, according to the demands of the continuous legal education.
The aim of the training program is to improve the quality of the state ensured free legal aid. This is one of the priorities of the joint project of two UN agencies – UNDP and UNICEF – Accessible Justice and Development of Child Friendly Justice System in Georgia. The UN joint program is implemented with financial support from the EU.
