Trial with Jury Participation Students in grades 11–12 of Poti Public School #7, named after Giorgi Chkondideli, served as both parties and jurors throughout the trial. The audience was addressed by Natia Bojgua, the head of Poti Legal Aid Bureau, Nino Morgoshia, the Director of Poti Public School #7, and Maka Bulukhia, a teacher, who initiated the process of holding a moot court. Natia Bojgua, the head of Poti Bureau, criminal attorneys Zaza Kvirkvelia, Davit Gogua, Tsira Javakhishvili, and Ketevan Gvazava, as well as the administration and management of Poti Public School #7, worked for about two months to prepare the event.
With the assistance of the same court, a moot trial was conducted at Poti City Court. Notably, the outcome of the lawyers' selfless efforts and professionalism was what the 11th and 12th grade students at Poti Public School #7 demonstrated at a high level in the courtroom: role-playing, speech, mannerisms, specific professional vocabulary, persuasiveness, that, above all, served the teaching objective- to increase public awareness of the legal profession through informal education.
The moot court was distinguished by the activity and great interest of the participants. Both sides attempted to persuade the jury of their veracity by questioning witnesses, presenting opening and closing speeches. The jury ultimately returned a guilty verdict by a majority vote.
Teachers from Public School No. 7 as well as interested elementary and secondary school pupils and their parents attended the simulated trial. The meeting was held as part of the government commitments for the year of 2024.
