A mobile counseling center has arrived in Nikos

On August 30, 2024, in the village of Zemo Nikozi, adjacent to the occupied zone, free legal consultation was provided to the local population with the help of the Mobile Consulting  Center of the Legal Aid Service.

Notably, on this particular day,  at Nikozi there also were members of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Mikheil Khurtsidze, Deputy Director of the Legal Aid  Service, introduced Nick Hartman, Assistant to the Administrator and Deputy Regional Director of the Regional Bureau of the United Nations Development Program for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, in detail about the operation principle of the Mobile Consulting Center and the impressive statistics that determine its  efficacy.

The discussions were also attended by Douglas Webb, the permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program in Georgia, and Nils Christensen, his deputy. Consultant Nino Masurashvili of the Gori Legal Aid Bureau met with each interested party individually and provided them with crucial advice. It should be mentioned that the German government and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) provided assistance in the organisation and equipment of the Legal Aid Service's Mobile Consulting Centre. For those residing far from urban centres, the Centre has greatly increased their access to free legal aid.
