On April 13, a group of lawyers visited so called Military City in Senaki. The LAS Poti Bureau lawyers and lawyers of Women for Equality, Peace and Development were members of the group. The project is implemented by local non-governmental organizations – Women Information Center and Fund Taso with support of UN Women and Government of Norway.
In the framework of the meeting, the LAS lawyers and the representatives of non-governmental organizations talked about the legal service ensured for IDPs.
The IDPs were interested in such issues as: social rights of IDPs, provision with accommodation, registration in the unified database of the socially unprotected families, etc.
One of the priorities of Legal Aid Service is to ensure accessibility to justice for IDPs and to raise legal awareness. With this aim, the LAS lawyers periodically carry out visits to the IDPs collective settlements.
