On June 1, the lawyers of Imereti-Zestaponi Bureau of the legal aid service have conducted information meeting in the village Perevi of Sachkhere Municipality, which is bordering occupied South Ossetia.
In the course of the meeting, the local population was informed about the legal mechanisms for the protection of the rights of victims of domestic violence and women’s rights. In discussing the women’s rights, focus was made on the issues such as: right to property, family relations, early marriage, right to labor, forms of domestic violence, gender based discrimination, etc.
The LAS regional bureaus periodically carry out similar activities in order to raise legal awareness of the population.
