On May 24, the lawyers of Shida Kartli Bureau of Legal Aid Service held an information meeting in Gori in shelter of victims of domestic violence.
In the course of the meeting, the beneficiaries of the shelter were informed about the legal mechanisms for the protection of the rights of victims of domestic violence and women’s rights. In discussing the women’s rights, focus was made on the issues such as: right to property, family relations, early marriage, right to labor, forms of domestic violence, gender based discrimination, etc.
The LAS regional bureaus periodically carry out similar activities in order to raise legal awareness of the population.
