With the support and organization of the Embassy of the United States of America (INL), during the period of July 14-27, 2024, a two-week in-depth training course on the topic - jury trial skills was held at the Daryl Dantzler Trial Practice Institute (Virginia; Fairfax).
Lawyers from the Legal Aid Service participated in the study visit. The course was intensive and included both a theoretical and a practical part, within the framework of which, lawyers attended lectures on various topics by American colleagues and experts.
Later, in accordance with the acquired knowledge, they had the opportunity to develop practical skills and perform exercises in small groups with specialized trainers and actors.
Lectures and practical work covered such topics as:
✔️ Client-Centered interviews;
✔️ Opening statement and closing argument;
✔️ Direct and cross-examination; impeachment;
✔️ Jury selection process (Voir Dire).
