On September 25, 2020, at 17:00 new office of Zugdidi bureau of free legal aid state organization Legal Aid Service was opened. The building was renovated and the working conditions of the colleagues have improved.
On the opening ceremony, the ribbon was cut by the director of the Legal Aid Service Razhden Kuprashvili and president of Georgian BAR Association Davit Asatiani. The bureau of Zugdidi was established in 2007. The territory of action includes Zugdidi, Khobi, Tsalenjikha, Chkhorotsku and Mestia municipalities. The bureau offers the local population the full service of free legal aid: legal consultation for anyone on any legal issue, drafting of legal documentation, and public advocate services on criminal, civil and administrative law cases for the vulnerable population.
After the opening ceremony, the guests moved to the botanical garden of Zugdidi, where it was presented the 15-year history photo exhibition of the Legal Aid Service.
In accordance with the safety rules, a meeting was held with the representatives of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional and Zugdidi Municipality administrations, as well as with the lawyers working in the region. A video showing the activities of the Legal Aid Service was presented on the screen.
Nowadays there are 13 legal aid bureaus and 25 consulting centers across the country.
