On September 6-7, 2018, the training on the right to a fair trial was held at the LAS Tbilisi Legal Aid Bureau. The training was organized with the support of the EU representation office in Georgia and representatives of the LAS bureaus and consultation centers of East Georgia attended it.
The trainers of the training – law experts Konstantine Korkelia and Besarion Bokhashvili introduced to the training participants how to apply the ECHR provisions in practice of local courts: concept of the criminal and civil proceedings, procedural aspects, indictment, accused, right to a counsel, right to silence, competition, right to a fair trial and decisions rendered against Georgia, medical test, right to interpreter, etc.
The training implied practical exercises, information brochures were also distributed.
