The LAS Imereti-Kutaisi Bureau lawyers continue to meet with the representatives of the local self-government of different municipalities whose structure was renewed after the 2017 local elections.
On February 12, 2017, the Kutaisi Bureau lawyer Sophio Kubaneishvili and the consultant Bela Chkonia participated in the local meeting carried out at Tkibuli administrative unit. The deputy head of Tkibuli Municipality local self-government and other employees attended the meeting.
At first, the attendees talked about the work and functions of Legal Aid Service. The meeting was dedicated to increase accessibility to free legal aid and to raise awareness about the services. The information brochures were distributed among the participants of the meeting. The 2018 budget of Tkibuli municipality and the future social programs were also discussed.
On February 13, 2018, the LAS Imereti-Kutaisi Legal Aid Bureau held a local visit at Vani municipality.
The Bureau was represented by the lawyers Khvicha Tavadze and Sophio Kubaneishvili. The hosts demonstrated strong interests to the LAS services, got introduced with work of the Service and its specifics. The employees of Vani municipality, which deal with the locals every day, were distributed information brochures that include comprehensive data.
The hosts from their side informed the lawyers about the social programs of Vani municipality envisaged under the 2018 budget, eligibility criteria that is very important to improve the living conditions of the socially vulnerable/insolvent population.
