Today, on February 13, EuroNest delegation visited Legal Aid Service. The guests were interested in the Georgian model of free Legal Aid Service, specifics of the work of the state organization and its effectiveness. The members of the Parliament of Georgia attended the meeting too.
The director of Legal Aid Service, Meliton Benidze, demonstrated to the guests the presentation. He informed the attendees about the 10-year work of the Service, relevant legislation which regulates the work of the Service; he also talked about the structure, budget and statistical data related to the rendered services.
The presentations were also made by: the EU representative, the EU4Justice project head – Peter Dennis, the UNDP-EU joint program coordinator – Rusudan Tushuri and the head of the EU for Georgia program group – Dragan Barbutovski. They talked about the contribution of the EU and UNDP in development of Legal Aid Service.
