On December 7, Samegrelo-Poti Legal Aid bureau lawyers – Natia Bojgua, Zaza Kvirkvelia, Maia Daraselia, Davit Gogua and Koba Gabelia held meetings with the employees of the Martvili Municipality Hall and the Abasha Municipality Assembly. These activities were carries out as a part of the global campaign “Violence against Women and Domestic Violence”. The audience got introduced with the presentation prepared regarding protection of rights of victims of violence against women and domestic violence. They also watched a 45-minute documentary “Raise Your Voice” made by the UN Women.
Besides, the public officials received detailed information about the services the LAS provides regarding the above-mentioned issues.
On December 1, the similar local consultation on the same topics was organized by the LAS Samegrelo-Poti Bureau. The hosts of the meeting were the employees of the administration of the Abasha Educational Resource Center and directors of the Abasha public schools. The public attorneys introduced the audience with the work of Legal Aid Service as well as spoke about various topics – legal consultations and juvenile cases, protection of the insolvent, rights of the disabled, etc.
