On May 28, the Legal Aid Service (LAS) Mobile Consulting Center arrived in the village of Zemo Khviti, Gori Municipality, located close to the occupied zone.
Increasing access to free legal aid for the population living in the regions has always been a prioritized direction of the Service.
Ivana Zivkovic, the Regional Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), who is now in Georgia, paid a visit to Khviti village on the same day. She learnt about the operation of the Legal Aid Service Mobile Consulting Centre, which provides locals with legal advice and other forms of assistance. It is noteworthy that thousands of people in various areas of the country are served by the Mobile Legal Aid Service, founded with assistance from the German government and UNDP.
The local populace was briefed on the LAS continuing services by Mikheil Khurtsidze, Deputy Director of the Legal Aid Service, and Giorgi Jeiranashvili, Head of the Gori Legal Aid Bureau.
At the Mobile Consulting Centre, residents of Zemo Khviti received legal counsel from Nino Masurashvili, a consultant with the Gori Legal Aid Bureau.
