A panel discussion titled "Professional development of a lawyer" was held for students in the Faculty of Law at Akaki Tsereteli State University on October 11, 2024.
The experts, David Simonia, Director of the LEPL Legal Aid Service (LAS), Gela Siordia, Head of the Bureau of Especially Important Affairs of Western Georgia, and Nana Shonia, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences, discussed with the students their real-world experiences with advocacy work as well as topics like the challenges and social pressure faced by public attorneys in high-profile cases and defending individuals with serious legal issues, the services that LAS offers to young people aspiring to practice law.
The Students od the Kutaisi University also attended the discussion. Young people actively participated in the discussion, considered several high-profile cases in which public attorneys are involved, openly presented their opinions.
Legal Aid Service actively continues cooperation with Akaki Tsereteli State University.
