On October 8, in Batumi, in the Radisson Hotel conference hall, the Legal Aid Service organized a conference on "Children's Rights and Justice".
The representatives of the Legal Aid Service Bureaus operating on the territory of Western Georgia (Batumi, Poti, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Kutaisi and Zestaponi) participated in the conference. In addition, the conference was attended by the authorities of Adjara Social Service Agency and local care organizations.
Razhden Kuprashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service, who directly moderated the event, spoke about the problems that came forward in the process of administering justice after the adoption of the Children's Code.
The speakers of the conference: Inga Kipiani, an attorney of Ozurgeti Legal Aid Bureau, Nato Iremadze, an attorney of Batumi Legal Aid Bureau and Maia Daraselia, an attorney of Poti Legal Aid Bureau, based on their practical experience Presented the audience with a number of challenges, problems and opinions that need to be addressed as soon as possible.
It was decided that similar conferences will be held in other regions as well and specific recommendations will be developed to address legislative gaps and to improve case law.
